Ivan Cordoba meets the President of Malta

On Monday 10th November, Ex-Inter legendary defender Ivan Ramiro Cordoba visited Malta to promote his Training Camp organised by Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta.
During his short visit, Cordoba and Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta Officials visited the President of the Republic of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca.
During his stay at the President’s Palace, Cordoba discussed the aim of his beneficiary foundation called Fundación Colombia te quiere ver, which means Colombia Cares for you.
He explained that the aim of this foundation is to supply nutritious food to poor kids in the streets of Colombia and also educate them. Her excellency discussed about the Malta Community Chestfund and its aid to cancer patients in Malta, and also stating the various activities held in aid of this cause.
Club officials offered two FC Internazionale Milano shirts sign by Cordoba in order to be used for a good cause.

Earlier this week Inter Club Pupi Zanetti Malta President Paul Fenech was invited to a special event in Milan in aid of the Pupi Foundation (UN SORRISO PER PUPI – 13 ANNI INSIEME).

Ivan Cordoba Training Camp postponed

Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta, organiser of the Ivan Ramiro Cordoba Training Camp in Malta, regrets to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances, the training camp as well as the other events planned to take place between the 6th and 8th December 2014, will have to be postponed to a future date.
Despite the fact that such circumstances are unfortunately beyond anyone’s control, the Club would nonetheless like to extend sincere apologies for the disappointment and inconvenience caused. Tickets paid for any of the events will be refunded in full and in the coming days committee members will be contacting each individual to make the necessary arrangements.
Whilst the Club apologises for the unexpected setback, Ivan Ramiro Cordoba has given his assurance and personal commitment that the same planned event will still be held sometime during the first half of the upcoming year. New dates and details of the event will be communicated publicly in due course once official confirmations are concluded.
The Club would like to thank all those who intended to attend the events for their patience and understanding, but most importantly for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm shown during the organisation of the event. We look forward to meet soon and enjoy the upcoming events together!

Interview with Inter legend Cordoba in The Sunday Times of Malta

Ivan Ramiro Cordoba will always be synonymous with Inter’s golden era between 2004 and 2010 but the former Colombia defender admits his early years at the club were not easy.

In an extensive interview, being published in The Sunday Times of Malta, Cordoba, who had joined Inter from Argentine club San Lorenzo in 2000, says: “The first few years were quite difficult because we worked very hard, with a lot of commitment, to achieve results and reap the benefits of our efforts but we didn’t succeed in giving this happiness to our fans and the club”.

Cordoba, who also played more than 70 games for Colombia, points at the Coppa Italia success in 2005 as the turning point for Inter as that trophy unblocked the players psychologically.
“Then a Coppa Italia success arrived and it lifted the weight of not having won a major title,” Cordoba remarks.
Cordoba, who retired from football in 2012, will be in Malta next weekend to oversee a three-day training camp for children at the Luxol Stadium.
One session will also be held in Gozo while fans will get the opportunity to meet their idol as well as former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo during a Gala Dinner.
The training camp is being organised by Inter Club Pupi Zanetti Malta.

‘It’s an honour for me to be here’ – Ivan Cordoba

Inter's former defender Ivan Cordoba was in Malta for a quick visit to launch his training camp at Luxol.

Ivan Ramiro Cordoba was one of the strongest defenders in football during his illustrious career.

Yesterday afternoon, Cordoba arrived in Malta for a very short visit to promote his upcoming training camp at the Luxol Grounds. The proceeds of this training camp will go towards his foundation to help the children and people in need in his homeland.

Cordoba retired from football two years ago on a high after winning the treble with Inter.

“Inter represents a lot of things that have happened in my life, I had 15 great years at Inter during which I had the opportunity to contribute a lot to the club,” said Cordoba.

“I received a lot of support from the people at the club and especially the fans, for me Inter are my one and only club in Italian football.

“Before I signed for Inter, I received offer from other clubs but I already made by decision to join Inter, I could of gone to another big club but I only wanted Inter. After some time at the club, destiny had something special in store for us,” continued Cordoba.

Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta support children in home care

Last week Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta organised organised an activity for children in home care under the patronage of H.E. The President of Malta’ Marie Louise Coleiro Preca’s at Her summer residence Verdala Palace in Buskett.

It was an activity that all children will certainly remember since they participated in a good number of games prepared by entertainment company Bronk Productions. Moreover all children had the opportunity to take turns around the Verdala Palace on the horses and ponies provided by Montekristo Estates and Montekristo Equestrian Club thanks to the Maghtab Racing Club’s helpers. Undoubtedly St. John's Ambulance’s officers were present to give their assistance if needed.

The President of the Republic was present for this special occasion where she met all children as well as discussed with homes’ administrators with regarding their current difficulties they encounter. She praised the initiative taken by Inter Club PUPI Zanetti that besides promoting the Italian Club FC Internazionale Milano, its agenda included primarily the organization of events to assist our Maltese community. H.E. also thanked Mons. Victor Zammit McKeon for his full dedication, assistance and supervision provided to all homes.

The President of the Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta, Paul Fenech thanked H.E. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca for her welcoming this event at her summer residence which will hopefully become an annual event on her calendar. Fenech presented H.E. a gift for the occasion and a donation of one hundred Euro in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Fenech thanked all the helpers who have offered their services and products free of charge for this occasion including McDonalds, Nectar , Nestle, General Soft Drinks, Alf . Mizzi & Sons , Consolidated Biscuits, Snack Sunshine, Playmobil, Dolceria Percius and Gino Tables & Chairs for hire.

Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta organises first event for members

A hot summer day amongst others, on Friday 25 July, the new Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta organized its first event as an official club of FC Internazionale Milano.

This activity consisted of a BBQ buffet organised at Villa Lija where more than 80 members participated in this event and enjoyed a great variety of salads and various meat. 

At the end of the activity the Club President Paul Fenech thanked committee members for the great work being done for this club and its success in a few months time, and also thanked all the members which attended to this event and invited them to attend to the Annual General Meeting that will be held on Friday 1st August at 19:30 at Villa Lija.
